ITV had its 'Welcome Home' jingle after ITV had all of their local compaines gone on strike for 11 weeks thanks to the refusal of Thames Television which blacked out ITV on the 6th of August 1979 and the rest of the 14 local stations except Channel Television which stayed on til the autumn of 1979.
