England captain Harry Kane said his side needed to 'dig deep' to beat Denmark 2-1 in their Euro 2020 semi-final.
They had to come from a goal down after Mikkel Damsgaard's fine free kick, with Kane converting the winner after his penalty was initially saved by Kasper Schmeichel.
He admitted it wasn't the best spot kick and was happy that 'things fell' his way.
Denmark were not happy with the penalty, awarded for a foul on Raheem Sterling, but Kane said he felt it was a foul when he saw the incident in real time.
England now face Italy on Sunday in only their second major final, both achieved on home soil.
