England fans were revelling in their 2-0 defeat of Germany on Monday (June 30), a victory that sends them to the quarter-finals against Ukraine in Italy.

Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane Kane struck late goals in Tuesday's last-16 match to guide England to their first knockout victory over Germany since the 1966 World Cup final.

While the build-up to the match was dominated by talk of historic and bitter tournament losses to Germany, England's focus will now be on making some history of their own.

That said, many fans said they didn't dare to hope that the team will make it all the way to the final just yet.

England will head into their quarter-final in Rome on Saturday (July 3) knowing victory will set-up a semi and potentially a final on home turf back at Wembley.
