Review recommends ways to improve compensation process

A review into the National Redress Scheme commissioned by Social Services Minister Anne Rushton, has made 38 recommendations on how to improve the process of compensation. Elderly and terminally ill survivors of child sexual abuse will be able to access payments of up to 10-thousand-dollars, while waiting for their applications to be considered. However, Shadow Social Services Minister, Linda Burney, says the Commonwealth should show leadership and make significant changes to the program.
