According to TechCrunch, Podz utilizes machine learning to find key moments from podcast episodes and generate preview clips.
According to Spotify, this will make it “easier for listeners to find the content they want to listen to, and for creators to be discovered and build a fan base.”.
The acquisition follows Spotify's previous podcast subscription announcement.
The subscription allows select creators to
charge listeners to access their content.
Spotify intends to take a 5% cut of subscription revenue starting in 2023.
The company plans to build upon that service by integrating Podz' technology into its platform
