The Celtics fell the Nets last night, losing 141-126 and going down 3-1 in their first round series. Jayson Tatum scored 40 points, but he was no match for the offensive firepower of the big three.
The real news came after the game, however. A fan decided to throw a water bottle at Kyrie Irving as he was entering the tunnels postgame. Arena security located the man, and Boston police promptly arrested him. The fan has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He has been banned for life from TD Garden.
Irving also made headlines by stepping on the face of the Celtics' logo at the center of the court. Many former players, media members, and fans were outraged by the incident. Irving was booed every time he touched the ball over the course of the two games in Boston. The series now travels back to Brooklyn for Game 5.
