Brad Stevens Game 1 Postgame Interview | Celtics vs Nets

Brad Stevens was interviewed after the Celtics’ tough loss to the Brooklyn Nets 104-93. The Celtics did a lot of good things despite the loss, especially when it came to coming out early and setting the tone.
"Our competitiveness was right, our focus defensively was right for the most part,” said Coach Stevens. “We had some miscues, but not a ton and we just got to attack their switching better. They got a lot of long athletic guys out there and prideful individual defenders and they know how to play, so we've got to be better at manipulating actions to get what we want"
Brooklyn was able to affect Kemba Walker, Evan Fournier and Jayson Tatum tonight to a degree, and with their struggles, Boston’s offense sputtered. Stevens gave a lot of credit to Brooklyn and their effort on covering Boston’s key players.
"They're smart. They'll load up on guys that need to be loaded up on, they'll guard individually. Jeff Green was great defensively in that middle of that defense. and I thought that we can attack it better. We need to, you know, probably do some things..."
Brad Stevens was also asked about the team’s preparedness going into the matchup and how the extra time provided the ability to plan more. Boston will have their chance to even the series on Tuesday night in Brooklyn.
