Brad Stevens was interviewed after the Celtics’ practice on May 1. He gave injury updates on Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Kemba Walker.
Tatum and Brown were involved in a collision in Boston’s last game vs the Trailblazers. Stevens gave injury updates on them, as well as Walker, who has missed a few games due to an oblique injury. “Jayson practiced in full, Kemba practiced in full, Jaylen was out,” said Stevens. “Jaylen is out tomorrow, but very much day-to-day after that. When asked about Brown’s injury, Stevens said that it is a “sprained ankle.”
Stevens also commented on Marcus Smart’s ability to lead on the defensive end. “We need him to be a guy… that can impact the ball without fouling,” said Stevens. “We just need him to continue to do that.”
Lastly, the head coach talked about the last seven games of the season. “These last seven games are super meaningful, every single minute of every single game,” he stated. “Hopefully we can have our best seven games defensively.”
