The Human Chair is a short story and thriller novel (ero-gro nonsense*) by Edogawa Rampo, published in 1925.

It is a story in the form of a letter to a female writer about the experiences of a man who lives in a chair and tastes the warmth of the woman who sits in it.

*) Ero stands for erotic and gro for grotesque, and refers to the decadent manners and customs that peaked in the 1930s and 1931. During this period, social unrest was growing serious, and many people turned to momentary pleasures.
