Unwavering Faith

The pandemic has not deterred Catholic devotees at the St. Peter Parish shrine in Quezon City from either buying or making palm fronds (Palaspas) on March 27, 2021 in preparation for Palm Sunday on March 28, to usher in the Holy Week. The faithful take home the fronds after they've been blessed by the priest during mass in the belief that these ward off evil. Due to the Covid surge, however, the Catholic Church has encouraged the public to watch and listen to the religious services online. Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem with the crowd cheering his arrival with palms.
