The battle between the Public Protector and President Cyril Ramaphosa continues. The Constitutional Court will hear Busisiwe Mkhwebane's leave to appeal, regarding findings on her report into Cyril Ramaphosa's presidential campaign funding. The Public Protector believes the President has a duty to disclose donations raised by his campaign. In March, the North Gauteng High Court disagreed. It set aside her report and her decision to investigate the CR17 campaign for money laundering. The court also ruled that she had no jurisdiction to investigate complaints laid by the DA and the EFF regarding the CR17 presidential campaign. Mkhwebane’s report alleges Ramaphosa received a donation of R500,000 from Bosasa's Gavin Watson to fund his campaign. Courtesy #DStv403
