A day after the National Green Tribunal issued notice to Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) to ban the use of fire crackers from November 7-30 in the interest of public health and environment, a number of states have issued order in this regard. Starting from Rajasthan and Odisha to Bengal and Haryana — these states have made it mandatory to ban the use of fire crackers, keeping in mind the pollution and coronavirus pandemic in mind.
On Thursday, social media was abuzz with the news that a political party titled ‘All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam' has been registered in the Election Commission. This had created quite a confusion among Thalapathy Vijay fans as they believed that their matinee idol was taking plunge into politics. However, Vijay issued a statement that he does not have any direct or indirect connection with the party. He also added that action would be taken against the party if they use his name, photo or the name of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. The statement read, “Today, I came to know through the media that my father SA Chandrasekhar has started a political party. I would like to inform that I have no direct or indirect connection with the party they started." On Friday, SAC, in a press meet, quashed rumours that he is not in good terms with Vijay and that he met the latter a few times in the recent times.
