Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan stepped up and delivered when it mattered the most for his team as he hit his first half-century in a playoff game and against his former team Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. Dhawan brought his fastest IPL fifty off 26 deliveries as he reached the mark by clearing the deep midwicket with ease on the second ball of the tenth over by Shahbaz Nadeem. Dhawan along with his new opening partner Marcus Stoinis gave Delhi a flying start before Rashid Khan cleaned up the Australian all-rounder for 38, with DC's score reading 86/1 in 8.2 overs.

मुंबई इंडियंस के खिलाफ शून्य पर आउट होने के बाद शिखर धवन ने सारी कसर हैदराबाद के खिलाफ पूरी कर दी. शिखर धवन ने धुआंधार बल्लेबाजी करते हुए हैदराबाद के खिलाफ छक्का लगाकर पचासा पूरा किया. मार्कस स्टोइनिस के साथ पारी की शुरुआत करने उतरे शिखर धवन ने आते ही चौके-छक्का लगाने शुरू कर दिए. पर जो उनकी बल्लेबाजी को मोमेंटम मिला. वो शाहबाज नदीम के ओवर में मिला. जहाँ शिखर धवन ने 15 रन ठोक डाले. इसके बाद हैदराबाद के गेंदबाजों पर धवन ने प्रहार करना शुरू कर दिया. पावरप्ले में इस जोड़ी ने तूफानी बल्लेबाजी करते हुए बिना नुकसान 65 रन जोड़े.
