S. Korea's exports rebound for first time in seven months

The nation's exports rebounded for the first time in seven months in September as major trading partners slowly resumed business amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Data by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy shows increased shipments of semiconductor chips and automobiles drove figures up seven-point-seven percent on-year, from 44-point-six to 48 billion U.S. dollars.
South Korea last enjoyed an uptick in exports back in February, before the economy felt the true impact of the coronavirus.
Imports also rose one-point-one percent to just over 39 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of eight-point-eight billion dollars.
