Happy 6th anniversary, JTBC Newsroom!
On this day 6 years ago, Newsroom was first introduced to viewers by anchors Sohn Suk-hee and Kim So-hyun. Sohn has been one of the most influential journalists in Korean television and is currently one of JTBC's CEOs. Meanwhile, Kim So-hyun is a reporter in JTBC covering the Blue House. She left the show after two years anchoring (she was there since News 9) and was replaced by another reporter, Han Yoon-ji. Han would then leave after a year to be replaced by announcer Ahn Na-kyung.
Today, Ahn is joined by reporter Seo Bok-hyun, who rose to fame through covering the Sewol ferry tragedy and the Park Geun-hye/Choi Soon-sil controversy, during Mondays to Thursdays. Reporter Han Min-yong, meanwhile, does a solo flight from Fridays to Sundays.
It premiered as JTBC News 10 on December 1, 2011 along with the launch of the network. It then became JTBC News 9 in 2012 till 2014, when it was renamed to JTBC Newsroom.
