The Congress finds itself in the midst of a growing tumult with the party deeply divided on the leadership issue.Soon after the CWC meet began on Monday, Sonia Gandhi offered to resign as the party chief. Though, Rahul Gandhi questioned the timing of the letter to Sonia Gandhi. At the CWC meet, Rahul Gandhi asked why the letter was sent at a time when the party was fighting in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and when Sonia Gandhi was ill.
