Firefighters rescue stray dog from well in south India

Fire department officials in south India’s Tamil Nadu rescued a stray dog that had fallen into a well after a two-hour struggle.

The incident took place in Erode district’s Anthiyur on August 19 morning.

Footage show one of the firefighters being lowered into the well using thick ropes. The animal was then put into a sack and pulled out by officials.

According to reports, the dog was first noticed by a local when he had gone to fetch water.

He immediately alerted the fire department who rushed to the spot and carried out the rescue operation.
