00:00all righty so today the day has finally arrived for me to get my surprise for
00:06Olive. I've talked to you guys in the past about I was gonna get her a special
00:10pet and I was planning on getting her a quail but I decided to hold off on that
00:16feel like it's a little too small and fragile for Olive just yet so we're
00:21gonna be getting well you'll see and I know you guys got the teaser with a goat
00:26we saw a goat we're talking about maybe getting a goat but we did a little
00:29research and decided on something else so so come follow us and we'll show you
00:33what we got so these were actually born
00:49well we found them yesterday morning so at some point night between Saturday and
00:56Sunday they were born so and what's that what's the breeding on the parents
01:04there's gonna be East Frisian and then some Wacom and our first sheep were
01:13Rito Arcott so they're a Canadian breed and so there's gonna be a little bit of
01:21that so you see this one's got kind of gray on its legs that's gonna be where
01:27that's coming from and there's there's gonna be a few other breeds in there but
02:02okay let's have you guys go play okay you guys wanna go play daddy needs to
02:22work go play with Ellie so daddy can work yeah look there's a camera go look
02:29at the camera so Lambie because she's got white skin gets sunburned on her
02:45ears one of the advantages of getting a black sheep I wish we'd have known
02:50earlier so she gets sunburned on her ears and so I have sure knee help me
02:57here by holding the bottle why put sunscreen on her ears to keep them from
03:01getting burned she's kind of hard otherwise she jumps around everywhere
03:06she's not she isn't very good at sit and still so you just put a little sunburn
03:11little sunscreen on her ears to help prevent sunburn and it's like I said a
03:16lot easier to do while she's drinking milk good girl most evenings we enjoy
03:21going on a walk as a family around our neighborhood these walks are nice and
03:26relaxing for Maggie and I and a lot of fun for the girls and animals Lambie
03:34loves going on walks with her mixed flock of humans and dogs we enjoy
03:43spending quality time together doing simple activities like this family walk
03:47it provides both enrichment and a little exercise for everyone involved as well
03:51strengthening our family bond you must be wondering why a hunter like myself
04:06got a lamb as a family pet Lambie's number one contribution to her family
04:11will be producing milk and mowing the lawn
04:21I'm the kind of guy who enjoys finding ways to use what others consider garbage
04:47a lawn requires work and money to maintain but gives absolutely nothing in
04:52return outside of I appeal a few years ago when we purchased our first home I
04:56decided to find a good use for our grass at our old home we raised rabbits on our
05:01lawn turning our grass into meat with our new home I decided to turn it into
05:05milk and cheese hence the reason we now have Lambie we love the idea that our
05:11lawnmower cuts and fertilizes the lawn all by itself and instead of polluting
05:15the air with exhaust milk is the byproduct originally we are planning on
05:21getting a goat for this purpose but after doing some research I found that
05:25because sheep are grazers instead of browsers they do a much better job on a
05:29diet of grass than goats do also sheep aren't anywhere near as mischievous as
05:34the typical goat is all done good job Olive thank you for feeding the sheep
