Beautiful pink-coloured sunset in the Philippines

A beautiful pink-coloured sunset with clouds like cotton candies hovered over in the sky in the Philippines.

Engelbert Mariveles recorded the large pink clouds that were visible from his home in Bagacay town, Romblon province on July 15.

He said: "I was relaxing in my yard when I saw the unusual sunset in the sky. It made me happy to see the beautiful clouds."

The colour of a cloud depends primarily upon the color of the light it receives.

Pink clouds occur almost entirely at sunrise and sunset and are the result of the scattering of sunlight by the atmosphere.
