Despite last month's Wall Street Journal report that said the Pentagon gave the White House options for cutting American troop numbers in South Korea amid their defense cost-sharing dispute,...the U.S. reportedly has no immediate plans to do so.
This is according a magazine column in American Conservative, citing top U.S. officials.
It added experts in Washington and Seoul believe the U.S. is largely "examining" the plan, and it could have purposely discussed the issue in the media to put pressure on South Korea due to the stalled cost-sharing negotiations.
It also emphasized that it's not the first time the Trump Administration has decided to heap pressure on South Korea.
