Ostriches rampage through streets in front of shocked locals in the Philippines

Two escaped ostriches shocked locals when they rampaged through a street in the Philippines this afternoon (Aug 4).
The huge birds were being kept as pets in a back garden in an upmarket part of Quezon City area of Manila when they broke free from their enclosures.
Confused residents and passing drives watched as they made bids for freedom - galloping down the concrete streets.
Shocked onlooker Dan Rivera saw one of the birds on his way home running along an intersection before a stray dog started barking at it.
He said: "I feel like I entered the movie Jumanji where animals run freely through the city. It was a weird experience."
The other ostrich was found roaming near the guard house of the gated community.
Mark Umipig, another resident, said the bird could not leave the estate because of a toll gate barrier that blocks the pathway.
He said: "The guard jokingly refused for the bird to leave because it did not have a quarantine pass."
The two birds reportedly escaped their cage when it was accidentally left open by their owner who lives in the private road.
Several maintenance and security crew helped to catch the swift birds and gave dragged them back to the owner.
Ostriches - the largest and heaviest of all living birds - are only found in the wild in Africa.
However, the flightless creatures can be kept in captivity as pets in some parts of the world.
