Drunk Australian annoys locals by stumbling around outside home and passing out

A drunk Australian was warned by police to behave after he was found passed out on the roadside.

Charles Morris, 45, was picked up after allegedly annoying locals with drunken behaviour then collapsing on the street in Krabi, southern Thailand.

Officers picked him up on Tuesday afternoon (June 30) and warned him that he would be kicked out of the country unless he changed his ways.

Charles reportedly told the police that he was drunk, fell down the stairs then wandered out of his rented home and passed out on the roadside.

The Aussie's landlady Worapitcha Somchue, 30, said he changed from a nice man into a drunkard after his Thai girlfriend left him.

Worapitcha said: "Charles used to be a nice guy when he first came to rent my room about two years ago.

"However, he had a relationship with a Thai woman who always asked him for money and after she left him it caused him to be a drunkard. He gets drunk and sleeps on the roadside."

Police said they could not press charges against Charles since he had not done anything illegal so they warned him to sober up.

Police Colonel Chawalit Petchpia said: "Sleeping on the roadside is not a crime and we could not charge him for that.

"So we have warned him not to do it again and if we find him behaving like this we might take him to the hospital and find that he has psychological problems then revoke his visa."
