India is more than 70% dependent on Chinese KSM, API and Intermediaries. It is happening due to infrastructure and administration difference between the two countries. In 1991 India importef only 1% API but now the quantity has risen to 70%. In 2008 india exported 42% bulk drugs which dropped to 20% in 2018. But government is slowly resolving these issue of dependency of drugs on china and so has announced a package of 9940 crore.
