This is the heartwarming moment a good samaritan saves a piglet sinking in a lake covered with water hyacinth.

Amarjit Soni, a resident of Chhatarpur in Central India, heard a commotion outside his home in Chattarpur in Central India on June 22.

When he checked, he saw a pack of dogs fiercely attacking a piglet, which was fighting for its life. To escape the dogs, the piglet ran into a lake and quickly disappeared in the hyacinth weed that had covered the water like a blanket.

Soni chased away the dogs and rushed to rescue the poor animal. Though it was not easy to spot it amidst the weed, he managed to find the piglet and pulled it out of the water.

The piglet was so terrified it ran back into the water and had to be pulled out again. He took it home, applied medicine to its bruises and let it go.

Soni said: “There were many watching the ‘fun’ without trying to chase away the dogs. They even asked me not to help the pig saying it was not a ‘clean animal’.”
