Earthquake Disaster Waiting to Happen - Due to Soft Storey

Surely, earthquake exposes all the weaknesses of a structure. Without proper analysis and design, buildings are exposed to natural forces resulting in catastrophic and sudden collapse.

Earthquakes, usually last for 2-4 minutes thus causing a permanent damage to a structure.
Soft storey is a storey with lesser lateral stiffness this may be due to lesser side walls,but due to this it attracts lot of lateral shear during earthquakes.
