Rescued workers had a dramatic race to save a stray kitten that was impaled on metal spikes.
The moggy was heard crying for help after being impaled for around three hours outside the home in Chonburi, eastern Thailand.
Resident Somchai Aimaek, 65, was indoors when he heard the kitten yelping but at first dismissed it as one of the neighbourhood moggies.
However, when he walked outside later that afternoon he saw the poor cat stuck on the metal railings. He called the emergency services who rushed to the scene.
He said: "I was trying to help the cat, but it was trying to bite me. I then called the rescuers because I knew I could not do it alone. ''
One of the volunteer rescue team climbed up on the fence and helped to free the kittens leg from the bar it was impaled on.
The cat was able to walk away unhurt, but the rescue team took it to a nearby vet to be receive bandaging on the wound and be cared for until it is healed.
