Hundreds upon hundreds turn out to register their abhorrence at racism and to demand action over racist attacks following the death of George Floyd in America despite the threat of sanctions. Police issued dozens of fines to attendees saying that they breached health regulations regarding large scale gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic. Organisers say people observed social distancing, wore or were provided with masks, hand sanitiser and were constantly reminded to safeguard each other.
