A family put their pet cat on a chair and lifted it to the ceiling to help catch a wild lizard.

The tabby cat named Koko was called into action when the reptile invaded the house in Aceh province, northwestern Indonesia on May 26.

The young girl, Putri, said he father was unable to catch the common house gecko so they put the moggy on a chair to reach it.

Footage shows how Koko eventually managed to knock the 12-inch long lizard to the ground and begin chasing it.

Koko caught the lizard and it was thrown out into the bushes.

Putri said: "My father had a difficult time taking a big lizard out of our house, so he called my sister to lift the chair up. Our cat, Koko, helped to catch the gecko for us."
