Krishan Mohan Mishra, the eldest son of Pt. Shambhu Maharaj ji( whom the world revered as Abhinaya Samarat) belongs to the illustrious Kalka Bindadin Gharana of Lucknow. From his early childhood Pt. Krishan Mohan Mishra received training from his father and started performing at the tender age of eight along with his father. He is outstanding artist of ICCR and A grade artist of Delhi Doordarshan. ICCR New Delhi honored him as Kathak Ambassador under Indo-Bangladesh Cultural Relations Exchange Programmes. Prayag Sangeet Samiti (Allahabad) Honoured him with the title NRITYA RATAN of kathak Dance and he has also received Gold Medal in 1973 from same institute. Award Lucknow. He is a retired senior kathak guru from Kathak Kendra, New Delhi; He has toured extensively in India and abroad. Besides being a talented soloist, he is also a gifted percussionist, playing table, pakhawaj and folk drums. Today, he is regarded as the torch bearer of an ancient tradition and great lineage. His dance bears all the hallmarks of an extremely talented artist. His signature style shows a tight command over layakari and tayyari. His pirouettes and scintillating foot work have always appealed to both audience and critics.
