Thor works for free at the local animal care and control in Phoenix. Its the 3rd largest animal shelter in the country with the lowest euthanasia rate. Why? Other states have negative dog and cat populations and they are desperate to get pets for their people. Every other month we fly our extra dogs to these states looking for dogs and cats for their kids and adults. Win win for everyone as the video shows. For the most part Thor walks the dogs. When a pet is found and brought to the shelter it is held in a cage for 12 days. Thor is one of the walkers who takes this dog out for exercise and a walk at the spring training center for the Cubs MLB field here in Arizona. He takes notes on the behavior of the dog and puts them on the animals chart so the next person can read about the dog and know a little about the dog's behavior. During the Coronavirus dogs and cats are being adopted at an incredible rate so things have slowed down for the moment which is great because it means these animals are finding forever homes. They will keep a dog for as long as it takes to be adopted so long as the animal is not sick, a danger to anyone, and not with a mental disorder. By walking the dogs it helps prevent them from going kennel crazy. They need as much exercise as possible!
