We surely love animals, but we gotta admit some of them are very scary and I’m confident to say that a lot of you are not fans of snakes. We've grown up knowing they're sneaky and a snake's bite can potentially harm us - especially if they're venomous. But, not everything about snakes is that bad. Some of them can be very friendly and that's one of the reasons a lot of people have brought them into their homes. Today we'll be looking at "10 Terrifying Snakes That Are Actually Friendly". You'll be surprised to know that there are actually a bunch of these reptiles out there that have no intention of harming you. Check out what's at the top of my list - as I'm sure the looks of this snake will make you want to avoid it, but it could actually become your new best friend!

Let’s begin.

Western Hognose Snakes

Our list begins with the Hognose Snake, a snake that is native to North America. It is known for its unique nose and for the fact that it spends most of its time burrowing. Compared to other snakes, the hognoses are quite small. But there's an aspect that might terrify a lot of people - when stressed, these snakes tend to extend their necks like cobras do and they do a very loud hissing noise that would make everyone freak out right away. However, this is all a show! The scariest thing that can happen from there is that they will strike, but with the mouth closed, which will only make them bounce off whatever they attack. The hognoses will rarely bite anything that isn't food. In fact, their defense mechanism is to run away and ultimately play dead, by rolling over onto their backs! Some people flip them back with their hands and the snake just goes back to playing dead. Isn’t that adorable? All of these facts make it sound like the Western Hognose Snake is the perfect pet, right?

Green Tree Python

The next snake on this list has very beautiful skin, but compared to others, this one likes to spend most of its time off the ground. Instead, the green tree python, as the name suggests... prefers to climb trees, which I'm sure makes a few people uncomfortable - they can easily just pop out and scare anyone that runs into them. With those eyes and those bright colors, I'm sure it's not the kind of animal you'd just come close to and pet. However, there's nothing about the tree pythons that should make us worry. In fact, they are so beautiful that many people decide to adopt them. A
