First known coronavirus case in France may trace back to December, doctors say

Doctors in France have identified a patient treated for pneumonia in late December 2019 who they say was infected with the coronavirus that causes Covid-19. The discovery may indicate that the virus arrived in Europe nearly a month earlier than the first official cases were reported.
