Bangkok airport deserted as government bans tourists amid COVID-19 pandemic

Footage shows how the normally busy airport in Bangkok has been deserted amid the ongoing coronavirus lock down.
The passenger was flying from the Suvarnabhumi Airport to Chiang Mai in the north of the country last Saturday night (March 21).
There used be hundreds of passengers in the departure area but it was empty on that day.
The traveller said: "It was such an awkward silence. I did not think that Bangkok airport would ever be this quiet."
Thailand has introduced a travel ban which prevents tourists from entering the country without COVID-19 travel insurance and a certificate from a doctor.
