Protesters in Greece flee as authorities fire rounds of tear gas
  • 4 years ago
Greek authorities have discharged rounds of tear gas upon protesters on the island of Lesbos today (February 26).

Footage captured by a journalist on the ground shows people running and cars fleeing the scene with clouds of tear gas seen in the background.

The filmer Franziska Grillmeier described the moment as a "heavy tear gas attack against their own citizens."

Protesters gathered today to speak out against the government's alleged seizure of farmland to build a migrant detention centre.
