Indian farmer spends whopping $8,500 hiring chopper to fly daughter-in-law home

In an astonishing moment, a farmer hired a chopper for 10 minutes to bring his daughter-in-law home.

The incident took place on December 12 in Bhura Khedi village, located in Madhya Pradesh's Ashoknagar district.

The video shows the grand welcome of the wedded couple, who were received with a grand celebration, among beating drums and dance.

The filmer told Newsflare: "Tens and thousands of locals from around the villages had gathered near the helipad to welcome the couple. Delighted by such a unique procession in their village, many also filmed the incident on their mobile phones.

"Amidst farmer suicide and inflation concerning across the country, the farmer, identified as Zorawar Singh Chauhan, has taken everyone by surprise."

According to the reports, the farmer had acquired the requisite permissions from the local government and hired the chopper from the national capital. The farmer hired the helicopter on his wife's demand, who wished to get her only daughter-in-law a chopper to travel only 21.74 miles.

Reports also said that the helipad was developed especially for this purpose.

Along with police officials, fire tenders were stationed at the site.

"I had never thought about it, this was like a dream come true", said Sekhar Chauhan, the groom.
