'Sports Illustrated' Names Megan Rapinoe Its Sportsperson of the Year.
The 34-year-old, who plays
for Reign FC, revealed the
news on her Instagram.

The soccer legend led
the U.S. Women's team to a
World Cup title this past summer.
The honor from 'SI' also comes
after the midfielder took
home the Ballon d'Or award.
This year, Megan Rapinoe was a galvanizing force on a team that is now looked up to by any woman who doesn't want to be told she's come far enough, who's taking matters into her own hands, 'Sports Illustrated,' via Twitter.
Besides her skills on the field, Rapinoe
is a driving force off of it as well.
She has been one of soccer's leading figures during the battle for equal pay
