South Africa hit by power cuts as state-owned utility imposes its biggest rolling blackouts

Many suburbs of Cape Town were left without power for hours on Monday (December 9) after the state-owned utility Eskom implemented rolling blackouts.

The utility is curbing power after heavy rains flooded power stations and disrupted coal-fired electricity generation.
