In a post to Instagram on Dec. 3, Bieber addressed his
“shortcomings,” saying his goal was to "take ownership.".

According to the 25-year-old singer, his mistakes were
due to being “uneducated” when he was younger.
When I was young I was uneducated
and found myself saying really
hurtful things not knowing the

Bieber is reportedly referencing a
2014 incident when video emerged of
him telling racist jokes as a teenager. .
He received a lot of
backlash during that time.
Bieber then used his post
to directly reference racism,
saying he wanted to “use
[his] voice” for good.
Racism Is still very prevalent and
