Two cooling towers at a coal-fired power plant in west India were demolished by government authorities.

The 47-year-old towers in the GEB area of Gandhinagar, Gujarat were demolished using controlled blasts on December 1.

Both the towers were 118-metres in height. Adjoining areas were cleared before the blast to prevent loss of life or property damage.
