Beyoncé and Jay-Z's 7-Year-Old Daughter Wins Songwriting Award Blue Ivy Carter is following in her parents' footsteps. Carter received the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter's Award at the 2019 Soul Train Awards on Sunday. The award was in recognition of her contribution to the song "Brown Skin Girl." "Brown Skin Girl" was released on 'The Lion King: The Gift' soundtrack. Her vocals are also featured on the song. Beyoncé, who voiced Nala in the live-action remake, curated the entire soundtrack. Queen Bey, Hova, Saint Jhn and other co-writers shared the award.
