Tornado rips through Christchurch suburb, New Zealand injuring two people

Footage shows a tornado which left two injured in Christchurch, New Zealand on November 18. The tornado hit at about the same time as hail rained down on the city.

It ripped through grocery stores and other businesses including DJ Auto roof, sending asbestos-contaminated materials into the air.

The two people who were reported to be injured were inside a store in Sydenham when the tornado hit.

Damage extend from Sydenham to New Brighton cutting power lines because of trees colliding with the posts.

The tornado was believed to have lasted about 10 minutes.

Cleanup of the debris has started in Christchurch.
