Having grown up reading the Shannara books, I so wanted to love the series. Even after it moved away from the books (almost immediately), I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt and enjoy it. Sadly, it just wasn't possible. The sets/cinematography are overall pretty good but the acting is terrible, the story is convoluted and trite. Everyone's pretty but it's all so disjointed, fake and really painful to watch. I'm giving it a 1 simply for the special effects but really, if I could give it a negative score, I'd do it in a heartbeat
