According to 'The Hollywood Reporter,' the project will be made thanks to a deal that Netflix inked with Paramount.
Eddie Murphy will return as street-smart police detective Axel Foley.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who worked on the first two movies, will also return.
The 'Beverly Hills Cop' franchise,
which consists of three films, has
earned over $735 million worldwide.
'Beverly Hills Cop III'
was released in 1994.
The story centers on Foley, a Detroit cop who re-locates to California to
solve a friend's murder.
'Beverly Hills Cop 4' is the latest collaboration between
Netflix and Murphy.
Murphy is also in negotiations
with Netflix for a return to the
stand-up comedy stage.
