Joe Biden's Lead in Democratic Primary Expands to Widest Margin in Months. A new CNN poll conducted by research company SSRS shows the former Vice President's lead as the most significant since April. According to the poll, 34 percent of registered Democratic or Democratic-leaning voters support Biden's bid for the 2020 Democratic nomination for president. Biden has seen a boost of support from racial and ethnic minority registered voters. Support from that demographic is up nearly 15 percent. Older voters and moderate or conservative Democrats have also increased their support for the former Vice President. The poll reveals that voters currently believe Biden is best suited to handle major issues including foreign policy, the economy, immigration and gun policy. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (MA, D.) emerged as the candidate most voters want to hear more about, according to the poll. She leads Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT, D.) by a few points for second place, though the margin of error attributed to the poll evens out the discrepancy
