'Stranger Things' Season 3 Breaks Netflix Record Within the first month after the third season dropped on July 4, views were counted in over 60 million households. This breaks the record for most views of an original series on the platform. Netflix counts a view when at least 70 percent of an episode is watched. Globally, nearly 41 million accounts watched parts of the eight-episode season in less than a week. Nearly half of them, around 18 million, wrapped up the whole season in just a few days. Figures from Nielsen add that compared to season 2, this season did much better in the U.S. In season 3's first four days, the data firm says there was a 21 percent viewing jump. With numbers like this, its no surprise that 'Stranger Things' is already confirmed for a fourth season. A release date for season 4 has not yet been announced.
