Dog leaps to safety from Guatemala river after recent floods

A dog desperately jumps for his life in the city of Escuintla, Guatemala after recent heavy rain.

The footage on Wednesday (October 16) shows the dog looking for a way out of a raging river, El Jute.

"For several minutes, we saw the dog desperately jumping from rock to rock to save his life,” the filmer said.

Heavy rain, flash floods and landslides have affected thousands across Guatemala in recent weeks, according to local authorities.
