Ghost rider! Motorbike rolls for 400-metres after driver was knocked off in Thailand

A motorcyclist was knocked over at a junction before his bike carried on ghost riding for a quarter of a mile.

Phuwamin Chawchob, 19, was riding fast through an intersection when he scraped the back of a car in Chaiyaphum, Thailand.

The teenager bounced off his bike and skidded along the ground before the driver Nantaphak Raksatham, 46, came to help him.

CCTV footage from the crash last Thursday (October 7) shows how the riderless motorcycle continued forwards for around 400 metres.

It was almost hit by a passing by car before it ditched on the side of a canal.

The driver who clipped the youngster said she did not have time to reach and immediately stopped to help the victim.

Nantaphak said: "I was turning my car across the intersection when suddenly the back was scraped by a motorcycle. I pulled over and went to check on the boy who was unconscious.

"I was shocked to see his motorcycle ride on, but I was more worried about his condition.''

Police Captain Apichit Boonta said officers gathering more evidence and would interview the boy to check his version of the story.

He said: "We have the CCTV from the road and dashcam footage from another driver, but we will wait for the rider to be well enough to talk and will ask him about the accident before we will judge on the case."
