There were more arrests in Trafalgar Square on late Monday afternoon (October 7) on the first day of Extinction Rebellion's two-week protest.

Protesters had rigged a scaffolding tower which they were forcefully removed from.

The footage shows multiple arrestees (some from the tower, others not) being carried to police vans by officers, a moment where a young girl begs her mother to get out of the road fearing her arrest, and two protesters sharing a kiss through the glass of a police van.

Additionally, two protesters who locked their arms in a tube had it cut off by police.

It has been reported that 280 arrests have been made on the first day of the protest.
