Typhoon Mitag passing through South Korea bringing heavy rain and strong gusts

Mitag, the 18th typhoon of the season is bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the nation until Thursday.
The southern parts of the Korean Peninsula are already receiving up to 60 millimeters of rain per hour.
We start things off by connecting to our Eum Ji-young... standing by at the northern port of Mokpo.
Ji-young what do you have for us?
Hi, Daniel, I'm standing here at the northern port of Mokpo where the storm is passing through as we speak.
Like other cities and areas along the southern coast and Jeju Island, Mokpo is being battered by strong winds, heavy precipitation, and large waves.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Mitag was located about 140 kilometers off Mokpo as of 6 PM on Wednesday and is forecast to reach Korea's southeastern city of Daegu early Thursday morning. It will then continue towards Dokdo Island in the East Sea.
The typhoon is packing winds of up to roughly 90 kilometers per hour as it passes through mainland Korea.
Typhoon warnings have been issued for Jeju Island and other southern regions of the country including the cities of Gwangju and Busan, as well as Gyeongsangnam-do and Jeollanam-do Provinces. Heavy downpours are already drenching some of these areas with up to 60 millimeters of precipitation per hour accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Could you update us on the damage reports so far?
According to the government, as of 4:30 PM Wednesday, there have been three casualties. About 40 sites were flooded and about 5 were damaged on Jeju Island and Mokpo.
Roughly 30 people have been evacuated to emergency shelters.
Heavy downpours and lightening have caused more than 750 flights to be delayed or cancelled.
Also more than 110 ferry services at around 70 ports in southern regions have been suspended.
