Heavy rain sent water raging down the streets on the Isle of Man causing people to be stranded in their homes.
The dramatic video filmed in Laxey shows the moment a fire engine was wading its way through the flooded streets in a bid to help people who are trapped.
“I went down to help my in-laws with some sandbags because the river was higher than normal. And started to overflowing because off works being carried out further up the road, then a load of trees started to form a dam that caused the stone wall to pop in Laxey,” the filmer told Newsflare.
Authorities have declared the flooding a major incident and residents have been advised to stay upstairs.
